I'm my own 'roadie' so maybe I'm just not as anxious about protection as some plus at 40% to 50% less than even the least costly HSC it's a pretty fair bargain for some. I wouldn't trust it as airline cargo or just toss it in a truck full of other gear but for transporting a guitar in my own vehicle it's as good as a HSC and lighter. It's shape makes it efficient for any one of number of body styles and it has a massive amount of storage space under the zippered top. If I remove the rolled padding that protects the lower bouts it fits easily and I can substitute a rolled towel for the pad until I create another with a smaller diameter. My Gold Top and my Casino have HSC but I was also curious to know whether my 339 would fit in this one.
I ordered this one for my Strat or Teles just to have one that provides more protection than the flatter 20mm padded versions I have. From a standpoint of protection it's a cut above any other gig bag I use including two Fender branded models with hard sides I bought for my basses.
